Description

For Masechet Bava Batra 91a we will study a number of laws that were instituted in order to guarantee the successful settlement of Eretz Yisrael. For example, limitations on export - for business purposes - of certain staples in order to avoid depleted the Land and its inhabitants of these important items such as flour for bread. This would also limit the use of a middleman in the sale of these items for that would up the prices since each middleman will command his profit. Some opinions would seek to limit the consumption of wine by the inhabitants of the Land. Under what circumstances do severe financial challenge permit one to leave the Land? In the following shiur we will analyze the sins of Elimelech & family who left the Land.
